An Urgent Need for Skills Training

In communities like Masiphumelele where unemployment and poverty are deeply entrenched, the need for accessible, quality training has never been more urgent. According to StatsSA*, young people aged 15–34 make up 50% of South Africa’s working-age population.

In 2015, youth unemployment was 36,9%. In 2025, it rose to 46,1%. That’s a 9,2% increase in 10 years (*www.statssa.gov.za)

With one of the highest youth unemployment rates in the world, South Africa needs market-relevant, practical training opportunities to increase employability, especially considering the multi-layered and systemic challenges of our education system.

A new Masicorp Training Centre will empower youth and adults in Masiphumelele with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to build a better future.

A New Chapter for Skills Development in Masiphumelele

South Africa is bursting with talent and potential — yet youth unemployment remains among the highest in the world. Too many young people and adults leave school without the skills or opportunities they need to thrive.

That’s why Masicorp, in partnership with Breadline Africa, is proud to announce the launch of a brand-new Training Centre in Masiphumelele, opening in late 2026.

What the Centre will offer

  • Accredited computer and digital skills training

  • Hands-on practical courses

  • Life and business skills development

  • Job hub & workplace readiness support

  • Partnerships with education and industry leaders

  • A safe, welcoming space for learning, mentorship, and opportunity

This new Training Centre is the next step. It will be more than just a building — it will be a dynamic hub that provides practical, life-changing skills, helping people lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
