In South Africa, over 1 million children under the age of five are still not accessing any form of early learning. And yet, research shows that a child’s first five years are the most crucial laying the foundation for lifelong learning, health, and success.

That’s why Early Childhood Development (ECD) isn’t just important—it’s urgent.

We have 36 ECD staff members, including 28 passionate local teachers who bring deep community knowledge, care, and connection into every classroom across our three centres.

2024 results show that 97% of our children across these three centres are ready for school—a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we invest in early education

With your support, we can continue our teaching training programmes by:

• Supporting our teachers in gaining formal ECD qualifications
• Providing our teachers with basic medical, fire, CPR, epilepsy, and child protection training
• Helping them identify mental and emotional health issues and understand the importance of nutrition for young children.
