Regular blog readers will know that Masicorp has been successful in uplifting pre-schools such as Masi Educare and the Home of Love to the point where they have received DSD funding and become sustainable operations. Our latest project is the Chasmay Educare ECD centre on our Chasmay Road campus.

Last weekend saw an exciting activity at the ECD Centre.  Claremont Rotary have taken a keen interest in our ECD project development and managed to raise the funding to start the much needed renovations at this creche.  The aim is to get the infrastructure up to DSD registration standards by the end of this year so that we can accept many more children into what will be a new pre-school with a full complement of children from Masiphumelele and Ocean View.

Old asbestos sheets were removed and a completely new roof installed.  Under the guidance of Rotarian “JJ” (John Jacobs) the job was done in record time with minimal disruption to the school. We at Masicorp are sincerely grateful for the interest and generosity of our friends at Claremont Rotary, in particular Ken Sturgeon and Ian Robertson who put our case to manage the centre forward.
