The festival of Street Sport returns to Masiphumelele

Three sporting codes, 90 players and 14 coaches enveloped the street outside Ukhanyo Primary School for the annual Sporting Chance Street Sport competition.
This 9-week event, the brainchild of Brad Bing with Sporting Chance, is a favourite with the kids and the community. Taxis, full of passengers returning from work, stopped to watch the matches, as did the rest of the community.
All teams have a minimum of two girls in each soccer and cricket team and as importantly two boys in each of the netball teams. This notable intergender feature assists our life skills training to ensure respect between genders within Ukhanyo Primary School.
The Street Sport will continue every Friday until the finals are played against Langa and Khayelitsha in late November. This is a highlight of the sporting year – thank you Brad and Sporting Chance.
