About Us
Founded by a small group of volunteers in 1999, Masicorp has partnered with the people of Masiphumelele to expand educational and skills development opportunities. This is achieved by listening to the community’s needs, recognising that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty.
Formally registered as an NPO in 2005, today, Masicorp’s education and skills development programmes benefit nearly 4000 members of the Masiphumelele community annually.
Masicorp is registered in South Africa, the USA, and the UK, with our headquarters on the Chasmay Road Campus near Masiphumelele, Cape Town, South Africa.
Our vision is to ensure everyone in Masiphumelele has access to quality education, training, and support. We work with community leaders and partners to provide a wide range of educational programmes.
These programmes range from Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes, to literacy and numeracy programmes for Primary School children, and skills development programmes in sewing and computers for adults and youth.

Meet our Team
Masicorp was founded in 1999 by John and Carol Thompson, joined by Jane Philippi soon after. After 10 years of active involvement in Masicorp, the original USA team handed it over to a South African board but continues to be involved in overseas fundraising activities.
Chasmay Road Campus
Located close to the entrance of Masiphumelele, the Chasmay Campus is a central hub of education and skills development benefitting the communities of Masi and Ocean View.
