Masiphumelele Trust is a registered charity and therefore is able to take advantage of the UK Government supported Gift Aid scheme. This scheme allows us to claim back 25p from the Inland Revenue for every £1.00 donated, as long as you are a UK taxpayer.
What is Gift Aid?
Masiphumelele Trust is a registered charity and therefore is able to take advantage of the Government supported Gift Aid scheme. Gift Aid increases the value of donations to charities in the UK by allowing them to reclaim basic rate tax on any gifts.
Masicorp take your donation - which is money on which you will already be paying tax – and reclaim the basic rate tax back from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). Basic rate tax is 20%, so if you give give £10, it’s worth £12.50 to Masicorp after Gift Aid is applied.
Please Note: To enable us to claim Gift Aid on your donation you must pay an amount of UK income tax and/or capital gains tax equal to the tax we reclaim on your donations. If you are not a UK taxpayer, please do not check the Gift Aid box.
Gift Aid does not cost you anything, it is simply allows us as a charity to reclaim the tax on your donation.
Please note: You will receive an immediate e-mail receipt for your credit card or PayPal donation. We will send you our letter of thanks as soon as your donation has reached our account.
